I have contacted FIFA directly asking the very simple question, "What am I supposed to tell my 10 year old son who thinks, after watching the match the other night, that it is the cheats who are rewarded?
If there had been a video ref on the sidelines, within seconds the goal would have been disallowed and Henry rightly sent off. It is time that FIFA dragged themselves into the twentieth century nevermind the twenty first before anything like this happens again.

To allow the result to stand would finish football ever. It will be a cheats charter where anyone and everyone can do whatever they like to win the game. The extra time part of the match should be replayed as I believe it would be unfair to make the Irish start from 1-0 down again.

typical professional play how many times must we here it's all in the game. This encourages junior/schoolboy players to assume this is all ok.In all major competitions all foul play should be scrutinised by all available footage by a panel and any unpenalised foul play should see the players banned or heavily fined to try to stamp out this regular jostling at corners/set pieces etc. The beautiful game it is not!
I feel Henry is only agreeing to a replay now because he was advised to do so. If he really thinks we deserve to go to South Africa and wants us to believe that he wasn't cheating then why doesn't he put pressure on the French FA to agree to the replay because that is the only way it is going to happen. Fifa has declared the result of the World Cup qualifying play-off between Uzbekistan and Bahrain void.
The world football governing body ruled Japanese referee Toshimitsu Yoshida made a technical error in disallowing an Uzbekistan penalty.

A replay is the best way for FIFA and the french national team to repair the damage done to football by Henry's blatant cheating. i've done what henry did before. it was a deliberate movement not not a deliberate decisoin to do it, it's instinct. i never cheat, i never foul, it's just a natural reaction. in fairness though, he did not move his hand to the ball, the ball hit his hand first and he then reacted to it with a deliberate movement. this didn't gain him an advantage though. it didn't change the way the ball dropped at his feet. he would have crossed it to gallas whatever happened. no one likes to see someone go out of a competition unfairly but it happens. if it had gone the other way and ireland had scored a controversial goal, france would not ask for a replay as it is a ridiculous notion. as it happens, france are being very humble and completely accept the fact that they did not get through admirably, so perhaps ireland should accept the fact that over 210 minutes they only scored once and and france scored twice, fairly or not. that is the reason they are not going to the world cup.

It is not a replay but a one-off decider on neutral ground that should be played if anything. To take away Ireland's superb performance over 90 minutes and Robbie Keane's 41st international goal and just give France the chance to erase that from history would be as hard to take as what happened on Wednesday. If a third game is to be played it should be at 1-1 after 180 minutes with no away goals counting.

Previous matches have been forced to be replayed due to technical errors by referees and this is one of the biggest errors i have ever seen.

I'm not Irish but justice needs to be done. Matches have been replayed in the past. Arsenal replayed a match against Sheffield United a few years ago because both teams agreed a goal had been scored which was unsporting.

The injustice is unbelievable. Firstly with the seeding being introduced 2 months before play-offs and then none of the officials seeing the blatant hand ball. This whole situation looks terrible for The FFF, FIFA and the team and a replay is the only way to get some of your lost dignity and pride back.

a more than stupid action of an until then well knowned Player and icon from France has destroyed the reputation for his home country by simply not admitting that he handled the ball in front of the referee.
If, and which will most likely be the case, France will got to South Africa, I am more than sure that they will be booohed out on every single match they will play since this whole affair has risen to a world wide acknowledge.
I doubt it very much that the french people would appreciate to got to South Africa under such circustances.
Me as a German would be absolutely ashamed and gutted to go under such circustances and rather decide to play fair and do everything possible to get a replay of the match.

I really want to see a replay of the game. It was definitely not a fair result. But even more so-EVERYONE KNOWS it was not a fair result. A game of this magnitude deserves it.

This is just not on! It was bad enough when the Italian player took a dive in the 2006 World Cup against Australia and robbed us of advancing, but this should not be allowed to happen!
