Andrew had to pretend he was television show 24's Jack Bauer for 24 minutes, obeying orders secretly conveyed through a hidden ear piece.
The usually softly spoken student ordered the housemates into the bedroom, telling them: "If you want to live, get in that bedroom."
When they did not follow orders, Andrew yelled: "Get in the bedroom now! I need to tell you all something."
The amused housemates finally obeyed orders and assembled in the bedroom where Andrew ordered: "All of you on the ground, now!"
Still in character, the student then told the baffled contestants that he would be choosing five housemates to swap places with five people from a second, secret house.
"Listen up. I have some information for you. There's another house," he said.
"Five new housemates are going to be joining us.
"And they are going to be replacing five of you lot."
After a pause to build the tension, Andrew added: "And I'm going to be the one that's deciding who's going."
The giggling finally stopped as the shocked housemates wondered whether to believe his lie.
The silence continued as Andrew ended by shouting: "My name is Jack Bauer."
Andrew was later given a special treat for successfully completing his secret task.
He was called into the Diary Room where three bikini-clad girls fed him oysters, chocolates, strawberries and champagne whilst he listened to some sexy tunes.
Andrew, a self-proclaimed virgin who says he lacks confidence with women, was so overwhelmed by all the attention that he had to go for a lie down.
The other housemates had no idea what Andrew had been up to although Mario asked him: "Why do you look like the cat who got the cream?"
Andrew later denied he had been taking part in a secret mission, telling Rachel he just "flipped".
He lied through his teeth, telling the stunned housemate he had a split personality and kept Jack "bottled up" whenever he could.
"I hate him. I try to keep him bottled up," he said.
Andrew said Jack had last appeared in November and the pressure of life in the Big Brother house must have prompted today's outburst.
