Boylesports International runners:
1. Kinda Ready N/A: Landed one of the biggest shocks in the history of the English Derby when soaring home late to deny Fear Zafonic in the Wimbledon Classic. Hadn't previously won in the Classic and while he has a plum draw here, he looks up against it given his overall form.
2. Cash Dream N/A: Has been a model of consistency this year and continued that promise when making all to land the Race Of Champions at Tralee last month. Looks ideally housed here and as he appears the certain leader early on, the early support from 7/1 into 5/1 certainly justifies his place in this line-up.
3. Shelbourne Aston N/A: Landed numerous monster gambles when completing the Boylesports Champion Stakes and Irish Derby double last year. Went in search for English Derby honours this year but came up short at the quarter-final stages and has been given time to recover since. That rest may well be the key to his chances and if he turns anywhere close, he'll be the greyhound to fear most.
4. Accordello N/A: The big local hope in this year's Boylesports.com International and following a sterling display to land the Ladbrokes.com 600, he goes into this race with an excellent chance. Early support on Tuesday saw his price cut from 10/1 into 7/1 and with a decent break, he could put it up to the best of these on a track he knows so well.
5. Ballymac Ruso N/A: The likely favourite for this year's International and despite a slow start in the Race Of Champions in Tralee, was only beaten one length by Cash Dream in the end. Has also came up short in both last year's Irish Derby and this year's English Derby but has every chance of setting the record straight here.
6. Skywalker Queen N/A: The only female in this year's line-up but she is certainly there on merit following her breathtaking win in the Sporting Press Irish Oaks. Is capable of turning close here and if she does, it'll take a good one to deny her this prize. The step up to 550 yards also looks ideal and she has a major chance.
Conclusion
This year's Boylesports.com International is a fiercely competitive renewal and probably the best in recent years. The likely leader is Cash Dream but with so much staying power in the race, it will be fascinating to see who comes home fastest.
The draw suggests that Shelbourne Aston may be in the best position to challenge. He can hold off the efforts of Skywalker Queen and Accordello in what promises to be a mouth-watering renewal to the 2009 Boylesports.com International.
Verdict: 3-6-4
