Basketball fixtures are a little different to sports like football. Let’s take the example of the NBA.
There are two conferences, the Eastern and the Western. Within each conference are three divisions. The Eastern Conference is made up of the Atlantic, Central and Southeast. And the Western is made up of the Northwest, Pacific and Southwest.
Each team plays the following fixtures:
4 games against the other 4 division opponents (4×4=16 games)
4 games against 6 (out-of-division) conference opponents (4×6=24 games)
3 games against the remaining 4 conference teams (3×4=12 games)
2 games against teams in the opposing conference (2×15=30 games)
That’s 82 games for every team in the Regular Season. When the teams head into the playoffs, including the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference finals, each round is played as a best of seven matches between two teams. The same goes for the NBA finals.
That means plenty of basketball match betting opportunities.
For the FIBA World Cup, it’s a little more straightforward with the first two rounds played as group stages, followed by traditional quarter finals, semi-finals and a final where each team plays each other just once.
